This 1970’s Azilal is a total statement piece – rich in tribal appeal with its bold African inspired colour palette of red, white, green, faded yellow and black. Handwoven by the tribeswomen using traditional Berber methods.

The design features small abstract figures and motifs to one end and a larger central character to the centre. These are surrounded by 3 blocks of geometric shapes in alternating colours, which create an impressive organic pattern.

Slight fraying to one corner, which is to be expected given its age – we think this adds to its appearance and integrity. A vintage tribal rug that definitely tells a story. Just stunning.
