Authentic vintage Beni Ouarain rugs are surprisingly modern looking, featuring minimalist designs of diamonds, triangles or naive figures in black on a white or cream background. Their abstract simplicity made them attractive to famous modernist architects in the 1920’s and 30’s, such as Le Corbusier and Alvar Aalto.

Beni Ouarains are considered to be the most prestigious rugs in Morocco, made from the very finest wool. Really old pieces are increasingly hard to source, they’re highly collectible and valuable. Our collection offers contemporary Beni Ouarains (often incorrectly spelt ‘ourain’) but only those whose quality is of a modern day equivalent to their older peers.
