A fantastic 1980’s tribal rug from the Azilal region of Morocco. This handwoven Berber wool rug features striped flat weave sections to each end with wool tufts, small diamond motifs and natural coloured tassels. To the centre, the thicker pile is woven in natural wool with an abstract and artistic tribal pattern in natural brown wool. The design also features a colour blocked section in red, blue and black, in a similarly irregular style.

A striking and very sought after style of vintage Azilal rug. This style of Berber rug would sit well in a mid century home and is also great investment for the future as they are rapidly disappearing from the market.

Caring for your vintage Moroccan rug

Professional cleaning is recommended. If an accidental spill happens, we recommend blotting with a clean dry cloth then using luke warm water to gently remove the worst of the spill before blotting again. Then call in the professionals!
