A rare and unusual 1980's vintage Azilal rug. Handwoven, thick pile shaggy sheep’s wool rug with a rustic tribal design. Shaggy Azilal rugs are highly irregular. This piece is also a rare find for its unique and unusual design.

Predominately covered in a natural and brown wool tiger-like mottle, each end has a band of blue which replaces the natural coloured wool. Flecks of bright red are interspersed throughout the blue end sections and darker berry flecks form a dashed line throughout the centre of the piece. A very handsome and special vintage Azilal tribal rug from Morocco.
