A rare 1970's vintage handwoven Boujad red rug. Unusual in its square-ish proportion, it would work well in a contemporary home. Minimal in design, this Berber rug is predominantly bright red with a mottled pink and coral coloured border.

Its irregular ‘wonky’ border beautifully demonstrates that it is an authentic piece of tribal weaving, created for domestic use rather than mass produced for the tourist trade. There is lovely faded patina on the mottled pinks to one end with pink, mauve and coral checkerboard along the border. This is incredibly beautiful and detailed up close despite its seemingly simplistic first appearance!

This rug is good proportions for more contemporary homes.
