A very unusual piece - made with sheep's wool and cotton, which gives this piece a really nice thickness and tactile quality. Hand made in the late 1990’s and hailing from the Ait Bou Ichaouen region, where the Sahara meets the High Atlas Mountains.
Boucherouite rugs are a riot of colour – pinks, blues, reds and yellows – all jostling for attention in wildly exuberant patterns, sometimes geometric, sometimes totally abstract. Typically made from a variety of textiles in “rag rug” style so they’re machine-washable and easy to maintain. If you’re looking for something chunky, funky and fun to brighten up your home... a Boucherouite rug is for you!
